This course focuses on the nursing care of women during the childbearing period and the care of newborns from birth through the early neonatal stage. It emphasizes evidence-based practices that promote the health and well-being of mothers, infants, and families. Topics include reproductive health, prenatal assessment, labor and delivery management, postpartum care, and the physiological and psychological adaptation of the newborn. Students will develop clinical judgment skills in providing family-centered, culturally sensitive care through case studies, simulations, and clinical experiences. Emphasis is placed on health promotion, risk identification, complication management, and effective communication within the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
